2012 State Placers

The coaching staff at MHWC in no way wants to take credit for the accomplishments that these wrestlers have achieved. That falls on their own backs, it comes from a lifetime of commitment and dedication. These young men deserve the credit for their own accolades.

If you want to get better in the sport of wrestling you need to put yourself in an environment that cultivates the right kind of attitude, discipline, and work ethic. Surround yourself with like minded competitors who are all training with the same vigor and you have a recipe for something good. That's what these wrestlers did this past year, or many years for that matter.

It is no secret that iron sharpens iron. The scenario described above is the kind of culture MHWC strives to provide. MHWC has taken a huge step towards achieving this, and we've done it at three different locations throughout the state.

No matter your weight, you cannot find a better group of workout partners in the state than you can with MHWC. In all, MHWC wrestlers had a finalist representative in every single weight but one (hvywt). MHWC also had 9 champions representing 6 different weight classes. 22 MHWC wrestlers reached the finals, 32 reached the semi-finals. In total 40 placers trained with MHWC just this winter alone (that does not include this fall or past seasons).

We don't put up these numbers to brag or make ourselves look good, our goal is about much more than ourselves, MHWC wants to provide a room for year round training where a wrestler can count on quality coaching and quality workout partners in an environment that is uncompromisingly centered around work ethic and discipline. The more wrestlers that we (Colorado as a whole) can get competing and winning at the colleges the more Colorado will be seen as a talent producing state, and that means more opportunities for every wrestler in Colorado.

Congrats to these wrestlers. It has been our honor to have been a part of their season in some way, big or small.
